Beyond Home Intelligence
Evidence where there is currently anecdote.
An emerging research platform on diaspora capital. We publish nothing we have not measured, and we publish the method before the number.
Programme
Four lines of work
Beyond Home Diaspora Capital Pulse
A recurring study of diaspora professionals and investors covering allocation behaviour, remittance patterns, FX and repatriation concern, credit access and stated barriers. Fieldwork has not opened: no responses are being collected until the consent model and methodology are published. A register of interest is open, and the first aggregate release will be shared with participants ahead of publication.
Beyond Home Capital Friction Index
A composite index scoring markets on the practical difficulty of moving, deploying and recovering capital as a non-resident investor. Methodology is in open development and will be published in full before any score is released.
Policy Briefs
Short, evidenced notes for regulators, finance ministries and development institutions on specific mechanisms: corridor pricing, diaspora bond design, credit portability and identity infrastructure.
Country Intelligence
Market-level profiles combining regulatory position, capital controls, investment protection and diaspora-specific access routes. Built to be read by an investment committee, not a marketing team.
Methodology framework
Nine dimensions under development
The framework below is the working structure for the Capital Friction Index. Weightings, data sources and validation are still being tested with practitioners. No scores have been published. The full methodology is set out separately and will be published in its entirety before any fieldwork begins.
The same nine dimensions are worked through as narrative prose, corridor by corridor, in the corridor research, and the terms used here are defined in the glossary.

Standards
How we work, in writing
Two standing documents govern the research and editorial programme. Partners and sponsors cannot select conclusions, suppress findings, approve responses or influence country rankings.
Methodology
Research aims, recruitment, sampling and its limits, what is and is not asked, consent and withdrawal, data retention, publication, and how the Capital Friction Index will be constructed and weighted.
Read the methodologyEditorial charter
Independence from commercial relationships, the separation of public interviews from confidential research, consent, right of reply, corrections, non-partisan framing and sponsor disclosure.

Request an Intelligence Briefing.
We brief banks, development finance institutions, regulators, universities and corporate strategy teams on the research programme, the methodology and how to participate. Briefings are research findings and journalism, not investment advice or a recommendation on any market or product. Commissioned work is possible; editorial independence is not negotiable.
